Greenpoint Cityscape Work In Progress – watercolor on 1/2 sheet of 140# Arches coldpress.
I started another cityscape, pictured here and already I don’t like it. I think it’s because I’m cranky. I tend to get crankier than normal in the winter months. You may insert The Husband’s eyeroll here. He will say I am cranky year round. I will work on the painting some more and hopefully I will like it better. At least I still get to put graffiti on the buildings. That’s the best way to be a vandal. Virtually.
This is a portrait my friend Carlene did of me. I think it’s great. My eyes are a little too big, but at least they don’t have bags under them like my real eyes do. I think that’s also why I’m cranky. I’m getting old. Today in my spam folder I got an email about cellulite. Talk about timing. And here I was just thinking about going to the gym.
Finally, here is my cousin’s new puppy, Frankee. He’s a 5 month old coon hound mix. He was rescued from North Shore Animal League and he is an absolute delight. He doesn’t care about the bags under my eyes. He kisses me anyway. Yay for dogs. They are the best.

Hi Carol, this is shaping up really well with all those angles aligned in an interesting way, I like it! But you not liking it will get more out of your creativity , so it is good 🙂
The puppy is so cute, feel like giving him a hug.
My son keeps reminding me to live my life and not my age 🙂 it is a nice portrait !

Hi Nuno, actually the first one is similar to others I’ve done. Frankee is super cute. I wish I could steal him from my cousin.

Hi Elena, thanks for your comment. There’s a little more to do on this. I have to add more City grime.

It is hard not to be cranky this time of year. Cheer up, spring will come soon enough. Then we won’t have to see our husbands eyes roll!!!

O.K. hopefully you get this. lol I think the cityscape is great. I just looked at Michigan’s forecast and we are going to be in the single digits for at least 2 weeks!!! At this point the 20’s seem warm! I noticed N,.Y. was getting a storm today hopefully not too intense. Love the portrait as well and the dog is the best ! love them

Your weather is always so much worse than ours. I know it’s super cold out where you are. It’s only kinda cold where I am. Thanks for your comment on the cityscape.

This makes me want to head to a city and look up at buildings–it’s wonderful. A great photo of your cousin Frankee. Your friend portrayed you as young and beautiful; I’ll bet you’re both.

Hi Hallie, come on up! My new cousin Frankee the puppy is the best. And thank you for your very generous comments about me being both young and beautiful. (I’m neither, but thanks anyway.)

I don’t know why you don’t like this one! I think the mix of colors and styles of those buildings makes a great composition! Bit of graffiti, a street sign, a water tower – lovely! Also, cute puppy! Dogs really are the best. 🙂
(And everyone should always get a *bit* of a grumpy pass in winter. I think.)

Hey, quit cutting down the city scapes. I really enjoy them and the water towers just get better and better, not to mention that luscious grayish sky that we have been seeing so much of this winter. I especially like the different shpes in this and the perspective. Good portrait….. Tell your friend that for me. …am just starting another self portrait…just have it drawn in so far. I love dogs, too, and this one is a real cutie!
