A big thank you goes to Nicola of Pointy Pix for passing along this Liebster Blog Award to me.
Carol King who is always Painting, Drawing, Complaining! She just makes me laugh with her New York wit and she does cool paintings too!
Aww shucks. Thank you Nicola.
Now, I’m supposed to tell you 5 things you don’t already know about me, and we’ve been through this before with the other award. Since the pressure is on, I thought I might knuckle under and give you a few tidbits about me that you haven’t already figured out from my blog posts.
1. I am not tall.
2. I cannot sing, but wish I could with all my heart. Of course this does not stop me from singing at the top of my lungs when I’m alone in the car.
3. I have never lived anywhere else other than NYC. (Neither did my parents.) I live 1/2 mile from where I was born. Sad.
4. I like to travel, but hate to fly. Thank God for little yellow pills!
5. If I was on death row (someplace I hope to never be) my last meal would probably be potato chips. Plain, not flavored.
I’m to pass this award on to 5 other people. All of you on my blog roll inspire me, but you didn’t take me up on it last time I got an award and nominated all of you, so here goes, in no particular order:
Jana Bouc Virginia Rhonda Leslie Irina and Alice (my sister). Yeah, yeah, so there’s six instead of five. Math was not one of my better subjects.
I’m in the process of creating more decoupage under glass including documenting the steps since so many people have asked about it. I hope to have it all ready to post soon. So get your Elmer’s Glue ready!

Love your blog and your wit. Hate flying too, what yellow pills help with that? And you art is awesome…a blog is an odd thing, a dialogue without the answer. So from the abyss of your followers, don’t stop, my heart always jumps a little when your blog appears in my inbox.

Hi Dana, you are too kind. Thanks for your comments about my blog. It’s nice to know that people other than my family read my blog. And actually, my brother won’t read it so now it’s only two members of my family who read my blog. And you! 🙂

I think possibly if I was New York born and bred I’d never live anywhere else either-why would you! I loved your tidbits of info and I’m with you on the potato chips or crisps as we call em over this side of the pond! Looking forward to your step by step.

Haha Nicola, You are a New Yorker at heart. I saw the pictures of you and S when you were here and you fit right in. Thanks again for passing on the award.

I don’t think it sad, at all, that you live within a half mile of where you were born. My parents moved 8 times between my Kindergarten year and my Senior year in High School. It got to the point I would begin mourning my loss of newfound friends; at least I continued to try to have friends. I don’t like to travel or move because of this, but long to see New York someday. Living all over the place is not all it’s cracked up to be. I’d sing right along with you! Off key means nothing when it comes to enjoying a good song. Thanks for thinking of me for this award. I will receive it as I’ve never said much about myself on my blog other than art stuff……. Your blog “ROCKS” so I am not surprised you were given this award.

Leslie, your blog ROCKS too, and that’s one of the reasons I passed it on to you. I actually did move a few times…but never left the city and never moved that far. I hear you about missing your friends each time you moved.
We can each sing our lungs out in our part of the US. Let’s pick a song and time.

Congratulations, Carol – it couldn’t happen to a crabbier – I mean, more talented – person! Keep up the fun blogging and great art work! Love you 🙂

Thank you Judy. And as we all know, if it wasn’t for you I would have never had a blog in the first place. I owe it all to you.

You are too funny with potato chips as your last meal. Bring on the lobster and pizza for me!

I am not an eater of crustaceans. So no lobster for me. Pizza, on the other hand…Hmmmm. That’s always yummy. But I’m still sticking with potato chips. Thanks for commenting Joan.

Thanks Jim. You would have made the list, but I kept it all female. However you did get the award I passed along the last time. You just didn’t take me up on it.

That’s right! Thank you retroactively and posthumously… I probably forgot to go claim it. Who can say? It was probably also the day I misplaced my keys, wallet and close-up glasses. In other words, any day!

Hi Carol, Thank for the mention. I will try to do something on my blog soon in response. I don’t really participate in those award thingees but will write something with a link back to your blog. since I like to tell people about your blog anyway. I meant to do it on today’s post but forgot. Your list was funny (as usual). I’ve actually been dreaming about a visit to New York (literally dreaming about it while asleep, and while awake too). I’m transitioning out of my day job in a month and some time after that will be able to actually travel a bit. I don’t like travel much, though don’t mind flying, just hate the time being stuck in a seat and dealing with all the airport crap. But NYC is calling.
Maybe when I do make it back to NYC if you’re still there we could meet for some sketching (or a cup of coffee). It’s all still just a dream though, not sure if I’ll make it out before winter or will wait til spring. I also have a standing invite from a friend in France to come visit but international travel boggles my mind. Jana

Hi Jana, If you’re dreaming of NYC that means that your subconscious wants you to visit. I know how you feel about being in a plane and dealing with the airports. But autumn is beautiful here.
And once you’re in NY, it’s a hop, skip and a jump to France. DO IT!

Thank you Carol!
Singing in the car? Oh, yes. I also scream (like girls in thrillers, with all my lungs) for several seconds and this activity makes me happy and balanced. Of course when I am alone in the car..
And as there is almost midnight here, I keep the reading about decoupage and posting about my Liebster award till tomorrow. Lucky me.
