Peruvian Street Scene – watercolor – work in progress

Some of you may know that May 21st, 2011 is supposed to be the end of the world according to an 89 year old minister.  What does he care?  He’s 89 years old!  (As an aside, this same 89 year old predicted the end of the world in September of 1994.)  This current prediction is in direct conflict to the folks who claim the end of the world will be December 21, 2011 since that is the end of the Mayan calendar.  Just to be on the safe side, I’m posting this on May 20th.  You never know.  Now,  here’s the real question.  Should I put out my recycling tonight for the next trash pickup?

Lucky for us, the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) posted this informative site:  http://emergency.cdc.gov/socialmedia/zombies_blog.asp  And the NYPD stated that they will not put extra police on duty.   Why pay cops to patrol empty streets?

So while you ponder what will happen tomorrow, or are reading this after May 21st, are still around and are wondering what all the hubbub was about, here’s a work-in-progress of a Peruvian Street.  If we’re still around after tomorrow, maybe I’ll add some people.
