I’m done with the cherry blossoms painting……or it’s done with me. As far as I’m concerned I finished it today and I’ve already moved on to another project. As always, I see a million things I could have done differently, but overall I’m happy with it. I had to go in at the end with some white gouache and hit a few of the highlights. Usually in watercolor you like the white of the paper to be the white highlights, but sometimes I can’t always get it to be that way so I guess that’s why there’s gouache!

I don’t know what “gouache” is, but I’m glad you had some =)
The painting itself is gorgeous!! The contrast of the colors and the delicate textures are lovely. Bravo!

Hi Carol. I love this! I decided to take a trip through your old part of your blog and found this. It is beautiful. I like the branch in the foreground. It increases the depth of this painting and is a nice twist that is not often included because of what the experts say about composition. It also points to the beauty of the painting which is the lush color of all the blossoms instead of the concrete path.
