Thank goodness we survived the Mayan Apocalypse. I, for one, was not that worried. I’m more worried about global warming. One time in Mexico The Husband and I visited the Mayan ruins in Chichen Itza. It was so hot I told my husband no wonder they performed human sacrifices. It was probably just to get out of the heat.

This of course has nothing to do with Christmas 2012. I’m just rambling. So back to the matter at hand. If you celebrate Christmas, Merry Christmas! If you don’t, happy winter solstice, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanza, Happy Festivus and a very happy New Year to all.
Thank you for visiting this blog, commenting and/or “liking”.
Here’s to a Happy, Healthy 2013 to you all.

Merry Christmas, Carol! When my mom was in school, she knew 3 sisters named Mary, Carol and Joy Christmas. Ah, but I digress… I love Madonna and Child with Dog. I’m smiling and I think I’ll still be smiling when I start making Christmas Eve dinner. Thank you!

I’m also worried about about warming, which will ultimately be all about water. Too much for some, not enough for the rest of us. Worse yet, what there is is all owned by Nestle (read the fine print on most water bottles).
Oh well, even in the face of catastrophe, we can be a wonderfully cheerful species. You could even say, a merry one. It’s our best virtue.
Christmas XOXOXs to you, your husband and your perfect dog.

I’m sure the baby Jesus and Mary would have had a dog just like yours! Merry Christmas, Carol! Looking forward to more posts and to seeing you very soon. Patricia

Too perfect! The baby looks like he’s rolling his eyes in disgust at the dog who is butting in as usual. You are so funny!

You know, the Mayans built their pyramids without beasts of burden, the wheel or any cutting material harder than the stone they used. Personally, I’m not going to be too hard on them for getting Doomsday wrong.
Happy Holidays!

Merry Xmas, Carol! And if ducklings, pupplies and kittens are the biggest news items in 2013 , then hallelujah! The Mayans would have been right that the world as we know it has come to an end!
Best,
Lauren

I’m a bit late on the merry ‘insert appropriate religious/pagan festival of choice’! and a little late on the Happy New Year thing but hope you had a great time anyway and I’m looking forward to many more of your entertaining posts in 2013. I promise I’ll be both a more regular blogger and blog visitor once we finally get into our new house! btw, I totally agree with your theory on chichen itza-so humid even in November when we visited!

Carol, thank you for the holiday wishes. Right back at you. Your picture reminds me of a family joke. My oldest daughter looked great in a prom photo but of course she later broke up with her boyfriend. I taped a photo of the head of a schnauser over his face so I could save the photo but not have to look at him. It’s become a family joke about relationships. We still laugh about it.
