I’m currently lodged in all of the above except the red area. I hope to get some inspiration soon. This snow and cold weather is killing me.
Thanks to Judy and graphjam.com for this pie chart.
Off to binge eating and discouraged napping.

OMG, and I thought it was only me?? Glad to know we’re both in the same boat (maybe one of us can pick up the oars and get us back to inspiration point??).

Hi Carol, Blow hard into your cupped hands – it helps a little with the cold. About the inspiration – I don’t know!
All the best to you.

Ha-ha-ha! Too true! With variations of course. I get very little inspiration personally, I don’t think I can do anything about it. But I try to widen my little segment for WORK to take over eating, napping and surfing. My current favorite quote is from Chuck Close:
“Inspiration is for amateurs. The rest of us just show up and work.”
I attempt to run my art life by this. With varying success so far.

I think your graph is as cheerful as a beach ball. Boing boing.
I think my grocery list can be pretty inspired. Especially when it’s full of good intentions.

HA! i like discourage napping, is that what i’ve been doing? I thought it was old age. We should all be pollyanna’s with rose glasses and think we are the best. What a bore that would be.Disgruntled and depressed individuals are usually my favorite:)

hahahaha…. I am with Alex on this one. Just show up at your desk or easel and pick up some paint, a pencil, whatevah…and just do it.
(After that nap and some hot chocolate to warm up:-), of course.)
Love the chart!!!

Listen up! The only times inspiration comes to me: in the shower; on the autobahn speeding along at 80 MPH; and in the grey zone between restfulness and sleep. During those times, inspiration and ideas will crowd my brain, but there is never any way to write things down. So I suggest more showers, more vacations, and more sleep if you all are in search of inspiration.

This, too, shall pass. I would bet your blue area is really a little larger than this graph lets on…….. exhausting and draining you. Probably could eat and paint at the same time once you get the hang of it.
I remember, once, telling my sister I was procrastinating cleaning the house. She replied, “Oh. You must be painting.” I had to laugh….she was right, afterall. ….and was probably eating at the same time! I really think this chart should be titled “FEBRUARY”!

I think I was that exact pie chart for the last 2 months. Every one was very busy creating a large volume of word since Christmas. I’m Jealous.

Lol Leave it to you, Carol to find a chart to break down our lives. I have no idea how my would look, there are just too many different things that take up my days time I wouldn’t know where to begin to break it down.
So Carol, get up from whatever you are doing and get in front of your art workspace and get to it.

My chart includes reading on the couch, aimless puttering and re-arranging studio furniture.

Wow is this the truth! My slice of randon web surfing is huge! Also reading books on artists and art – makes me think I’m doing something productive!

O.K. Carol I know that the Green area was directed towards me, but let me tell you, I havdyuent (mumbling because of cookies in my mouth) had anything to eat since a fewbsk houshars ago (still mumbling due to cookies in my mouth and crumbs falling on keyboard), so as far as inspiration goes I think of COOKIES, i love COOKIEs… did I say that out loud!
Great pie chart, it’s dead on!

By the way, there is nothing wrong about not being productive! I call that being contemplative, something very respected in other cultures !!
And winter is especially the time for that…

You are too funny!!! The creativity is taking place in the back of your mind and you aren’t aware of it. It will come out soon. Yes, let’s get rid of all this muddy lookin’s snow already!

Very enlightening! I would substitute the binge eating with binge drinking or doing drugs, helps the creative process in enormously..lol

Let’s see now. Lately I’ve been pretty inspired so I’ve been doing a lot of watercolors. So that is a large section of my pie graph. Then there is the thinking of ice-cream that I battle with, that takes up quite a bit of space. But easily smashed when I think of getting my swim suit properly, which is no easy task at my age. lol. Surfing the net, is just about every moment I’m sitting down. I sit and the laptop jumps right on me. Somewhere in all this I do get my work done and manage to get my 7-8 hours sleep.
Hang in there, Carol, Spring is just around the corner. Stay busy with the the things you like to do and it will sneak right up on you.

The way I feel at the moment, if you gave me any sort of pie I’d probably eat it!… and drink your drink if you asked me to hold it. That being said, I agree with the ratio and feel inspired you share the same lack of inspiration!

You are creative, you managed to put them into charts. That chart is me, truely. Not so much on surfing but too much TV is more likely. Thanks for the chart and you have a great weekend.

This is perfect for what I seem to be experiencing at the moment too – is it the time of year do you think? I just noticed that your blog had fallen off my list that i follow along with some others. I don’t know how or why but you’re back there now and I’ve been enjoying catching up with the posts I missed out on!!
